About This Recipe

If you love baking and decorating cupcakes with fun swirls of icing AND you love having soft skin, then you are going to love making this body butter. It is so pretty when it's all swirled together with big silky ribbony waves of body butter.

The vanilla scent in this is optional, the cocoa butter has a soft and rich scent all its own and leaves skin so silky soft.

Clean and Healthy

Ingredients

  • 2oz coconut oil

  •

    3 oz shea butter

  •

    2oz beeswax

  •

    2tbs arrowroot

  •

    2 tsp kaolin clay

  • Essential oil blends you could use;

  •

    Orange Dreamsicle:

    15 drops Vanilla

    15 drops Orange

  •

    Midnight Forest:

    10 drops Orange,

    15 drops Black Spruce,

    15 drops Frankincense

  •

    Spicy Flower:

15 drops Ylang Ylang (or Jasmine),

    15 drops Black Pepper,

    10 drops Ginger

  •

    Dirty Hippie:

    15 drops Orange,

    10 drops Lavender,

    5 drops Patchouli

Directions

  1. Melt the coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax in a double boiler.

  2. Once melted remove from heat and add the arrowroot and kaolin clay. Keep stirring and whisking until all the clumps are gone and everything is fully incorporated.

  3. Pour into the tubes in small increments, this helps avoid the little sink hole in the middle.

  4. Because they are paper tubes, they show stains/oil spots. You wrap some packing tape around it to keep it clean and prevent the tube from staining.

Tips for Success

  • The tubes are compostable, just remove the tape first (if you used any) 🌎🍃🌲
