These shimmer sticks are like little moments of sparkly joy. They add a little glow, a little sparkle, a little flair. They just make an ordinary day feel a bit more whimsical. And sometimes you have to make your own magic, your own sparkle, your own whimsy.
Shimmer Stick Recipe
0.5 oz Beeswax (14g)
1.0oz Jojoba Oil (23.5g)
2.5oz Shea Butter (70g)
0.4oz Vit E Oil (1g)
1tsp Shimmer Pearl Mica
1 tsp Bronze Mica
(Both of these Micas are ethically sourced and tested)
Double Boiler
Heat Proof Glass Jar
Heat proof measuring cup (for pouring balm into tubes)
Three 2oz push tubes (or other tube/stick container)

Measure the Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter and Beeswax into a double boiler and melt over low heat. I use a pyrex glass measuring cup for this to make pouring directly into the push up tubes easy.
When everything is melted remove from the heat and add in the Vitamin E Oil. Stir well to combine and then add in the mica powder being careful not to breathe it in (wearing a mask and pouring/stirring carefully prevents this).
Stir well to incorporate the mica powder into the rest of the ingredients.
Pour into the tube containers in thirds at a time. This helps prevent the hole that often forms in the center as they cool. In between pouring keep your pouring cup warm over the double boiler so that the ingredients do not solidify in between pours. Usually you do not need to be heating the water in the double boiler to do this, the warm water itself is enough to keep it in a liquid state.
Tips & Extras
The ratio of mica I used in the recipe does not leave a really dark tint but it does leave a light tint and nice shimmer, it leaves your skin glowy and shimmery, the mica softly reflects the light.
If you want a deeper tint you could add more of the bronze and less of the shimmer pearl, giving more of a bronzer effect that still has shimmer.
