Honey Face Wash Recipe

I fell in love with this recipe upon using it and that is no exaggeration. It has three main ingredients; raw organic honey, glycerin, and castile soap and is pure sweet, magical, glowy goodness for your skin. I do sell this recipe as the Sweet Bee Honey Face Wash, if you rather buy it, either way you're gonna love using it.

Honey....a magical beauty ingredient

Honey is probably one of the oldest beauty ingredients around and with good reason. Its a magical ingredient that has been used for thousands of years. It has antibacterial properties so it can help keep your skin clean while also pulling moisture from the air to help deeply moisturize. It’s been used for masks, for spot treatments on acne, for face washes, and lip gloss.

This face wash is cleansing, non drying, easy to make and great for all skin types. It is slightly sudsy and gets the job of cleansing done while leaving your skin soft and hydrated. It works with dry skin, sensitive skin, teenage skin, oily skin, and mature skin. After about a week of using, you’ll likely notice that certain acne spots have cleared, or that you wake up with skin that is fresh and soft, or just a little bit brighter.

The raw organic honey is combined with vegetable glycerin and unscented castile soap. On its own, castile soap can be too drying for many skin types, it also is meant to be diluted as it comes in a very concentrated form. It can cause already dry skin to dry out more and cause oily skin to produce more oil in an effort to combat the drying effects of the castile if used alone. But when a small amount is combined in the right ratio it can be a wonderful ingredient. When combined with raw organic honey and vegetable glycerin you get a face soap that is cleansing and moisturizing.

Add a dash of wild orange essential oil and now you have pure gold to wash your rosy cheeks.

To use the honey face cleanser, splash a little warm water on your face and then squeze a dropper full of honey cleanser onto fingertips and gently work in circular motions over your entire face. Rinse clean. Follow with your favorite toner or floral water and moisturizer.

Honey Face Wash Recipe

3 tbs Raw Organic Honey

½ cup Vegetable Glycerin *

1tbs Liquid Castile Soap (unscented) *

20 drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil *

Combine the ingredients and then pour into a 2 ounce pump bottle or a 2 ounce medicine bottle with a dropper.

This recipe makes about 5 ounces. When I am making this for myself I like to fill a 2oz bottle and keep the rest in a clean mason jar with a lid, and refill my honey face cleanser as needed.

Make sure to use a good source of honey. Use a raw organic honey to make sure that the honey has been gathered from flowers that have not been sprayed with chemicals. And to make sure honey has not been treated with heat, ensuring all those lovely honey properties remain vital and potent.
