This is a recipe for natural highlighter that adds a soft glow and shimmer, perfect for summer.
It uses plant powders and natural ingredients to create a makeup that leaves a soft tint on your skin while at the same adding extra antioxidants and nutrients for a happy, healthy glow.
It's wearing plant powders and magical mushrooms that gives this highlighter an extra pop for your skin and your spirit. Rose and Mangosteen are both packed with nutrients that are good for your skin, like antioxidants that nourish it as you wear the highlighter.
The rose powder is used to create a soft pink hue, while the hibiscus mangosteen powder creates a more bronzy color. Choose whichever color feels best for your sweet cheeks!
Mixed with shea butter for deep moisture and little mica for shimmer, your cheeks are left with a soft glow.
And adding the Soma Elixir adds a layer of plant spirit medicine. It's a blend of adaptogenic mushrooms, meaning they help our nervous systems and bodies stay balanced as we move this world. You can take it like a tincture in tea or food or you can add it to your skincare, like I did in this recipe for its plant spirit medicine.
It's like makeup for your aura, adding the spirit of all the mushrooms in the mix, bringing an energy of longevity and protection to you, as you walk through this world. Reminding you of a connection to the deep forest where mushrooms grow, happily and undisturbed in their dark and forest world.

0.8 oz Vegetable Glycerine (2g)
0.8oz Vit E Oil (2g)
4tsp Rose Powder or Mangosteen Hibiscus

Glow-lighter Directions
-
Measure the Jojoba Oil, Shea Butter and Beeswax into a double boiler and melt over low heat. When everything is melted remove from heat and add in the Glycerine and Vitamin E Oil.
-
Stir well to combine all the ingredients, then add in either the Rose Powder or the Mangosteen Hibiscus Powder depending on which tint you are creating.
-
Next, add in the Soma Elixir, for that extra plant spirit medicine. They add extra antioxidants and skin protection on a physical level as well.
-
Stir well to combine and then add in the mica powder. When you add in the mica, scoop it gently and then gently add to the mix, you want to avoid it poofing up into the air and breathing it in. Once combined into the product mica is safe, you just don't want to breathe it in. You can also leave it out entirely.
-
Stir well to incorporate the mica powder into the rest of the ingredients.
-
Pour into the tins (or whichever container you are using). I like to give each little tin a stir after I pour just to make sure the herb powders are well combined into the glowy balm.

For Most Magical Results
Using your finger tip, make small circles in your tin to warm up the glowlighter. Then gently dab on lips, eyelids, decollegate, cupid’s bow (that cute little spot above the lips) or anywhere that you want to highlight with a soft tinted shimmer.
I even use some on my arms in summer for a soft tinted sparkle.
