Cocoa Peppermint Scrubby Bars

Cocoa Peppermint Scrubby Bars

Who loves a warm and invigorating body scrub that leaves you soft as silk?

Me and probably you, which is why you are here.

Make sure to use unrefined cocoa butter, so you get that deep aroma. The peppermint essential oil is optional but adds a pop of energy✨

✨Peppermint Cocoa Butter Scrub Bars

1 1/2cup Cocoa Butter

3/4 cup Shea Butter

1 cup Sugar (or Sea Salt)

15 drops Peppermint Essential Oil

~this recipe makes about 2 1/2 cups of mix

(about 23 0.8oz bars)

Snowflake Molds

  1. Melt the Cocoa butter and Shea butters over double boiler

  2. Once they have melted, remove the butters from heat and allow the mix to cool down before adding the sugar and peppermint essential oil.

  3. Once it’s cooled down it will (slowly) begin to become more solidified (this takes a while, maybe an hour or so)

  4. Pour the body scrub bar mix into the molds before it fully hardens and when the sugar stays suspended in the mix

  5. The trickiest part is pouring the scrub while the sugar is mixed and suspended evenly (not sinking) but before your body scrub bar mix hardens too much.

  6. When the body scrub bars are fully hardened, pop out, and store in glass jars or salve tins.

The exact snowflake mold I used for these is no longer available, but there are lots of choices at your local craft stores and there are some on amazon too, like the one I linked above.

Use by gently massaging the body scrub bar over rough areas of skin to exfoliate and moisturize at the same time. Works great on rough hands, feet, elbows. I like to keep these by the kitchen sink and use on my hands to keep them soft.

Enjoy!
