Magnesium Oil Recipe

Magnesium Oil Recipe

Magnesium oil is not actually an oil, it is magnesium chloride flakes and water, which combine to make a liquid that feels thick and slick, like oil. It is also quite easy to make.

Used topically magnesium oil can help bring better and more restful sleep, soothe restlessness and anxiety, and help to ease muscle cramps, tension and headaches.

Magnesium Oil Spray Recipe

1/3 cup Magnesium Chloride Flakes  *I earn commissions on that link :)

1/3 cup boiling distilled water

20 drops Lavender Essential Oil*

(The lavender essential oil is optional. It can also be replaced with another soothing essential oil, like chamomile, orange, or ylang ylang essential oils)

To Make

Pour the magnesium chloride flakes into a heat safe jar.

Pour half a cup of boiling water into the jar.

Swirl the jar around to dissolve the flakes.

Once the flakes are dissolved and cooled down add the essential oils.

Pour into a clean 4 ounce spray bottle and label.

Spray magnesium on your feet before bed for better sleep, If you like you can wipe down feet thirty minutes or so after spraying them, to remove the leftover residue if you don’t like how it feels. You can also just leave it on there.

You can also spray onto muscle spasms and gently massage it onto skin.

Some folks experience a tingling sensation when first using magnesium oil, go slow, using a little more every day, giving your skin time to adjust. Most people will feel more relaxed and have better sleep using magnesium oil but some folks, very rarely, actually have the opposite effect. If that's the case, then just use the spray during the day.

Some folks prefer magnesium body butter used topically on their feet, the oils and butter in the magnesium body butter help to counteract the itchy skin feeling that some people feel when using magnesium oil. I'll post that recipe soon!
