Floral Face Wash Recipe

Floral Face Wash Recipe

Making your own skincare is a lot like making your own food.

It’s fresh and because it's fresh it doesn’t have a lot of extra added ingredients to preserve it from spoilage or to help extend freshness or improve texture or enhance flavor.

Which leaves room for more goodness to put on your skin. And as you make the recipe and get to know the recipe you can add more or less of what you love, of what you need.

So with this Floral Face Wash, leave out the essential oils if you don't like them. Or just use lavender essential oil or just orange essential oil. Or if you don’t glycerine leave it out, although it does add moisture and mellows out the castile soap, it adds a softening effect to the whole recipe and to your sweet cheeks.

Floral Face Wash Recipe

1.5 ounces Rose Hydrosol (3 tablespoons Rose Hydrosol

0.5 ounces Castile Soap    (1 tablespoon)

¼ tsp Vegetable Glycerine

2 drops Lavender Essential Oil

2 drops  Sweet Orange Essential Oil

2 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

This is pretty simple to make. Once you’ve made it, it's meant to be used within a month.

The addition of the glycerine acts as a humectant (helps to moisturize) and softens the feel of the soap as it cleanses.

Rose hydrosol is nurturing and soothing for most skin, she is the queen of flowers for a reason.

First add the castle soap to your pump bottle or mixing bowl. Then add in the essential oils and the vegetable glycerine.

Give this a good stir to combine the essential oils into the soap and the glycerine.

Once combined then add in the rose hydrosol.

Stir or shake to make sure all the ingredients are fully mixed.

To Use;

Using warm water, gently wet your face. Then place 1-2 dropper fulls of soap into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together to make a little suds and then gently wash your face avoiding the eye area.

Rinse clean with warm water and pat dry. Follow with toner and a moisturizing face oil like The Calming Face Oil or Wild Beauty Face Oil to seal in moisture and nourish skin.

I've included affiliate links for a few of the ingredients, thank you for any purchases made through them, it helps me continue to share the recipes!
